Eunice Olsen was appointed in November 2004 as a Nominated Member of Parliament (NMP) in Singapore, making her the youngest member of parliament at the age of 27. Olsen has gone on to serve two terms as an NMP in Singapore. An avid volunteer, she was also winner of the Miss Singapore Universe contest in 2000, a TV host and an actress. In 2008, Olsen was the proud recipient of the prestigious ASEAN Youth Award which recognizes outstanding contributions by a young person to regional development and cooperation. This came after she received the Singapore Youth Award in 2006. In addition to her parliamentary and entertainment work, she is a Goodwill Ambassador for Habitat for Humanity and champions causes for the environment, youth at risks, people with disabilities, awareness on cervical cancer and AIDS, to name a few.
