Fundación Libertad (FL)
Felix Maradiaga is Founder of Fundación Libertad, a non-profit organization that advances freedom and good governance in Central America, and Co-Founder of Instituto de Liderazgo de la Sociedad Civil, a youth centre affiliated to Movement for Nicaragua, one of the largest civic movements in Central America. Maradiaga is also Managing Director at Pioneer Capital Partners, an investment firm dedicated to managing global capital to make principal investments and provide advisory services in Central America and the Caribbean. Previously, he was the youngest-ever Secretary-General of the Ministry of Defence of Nicaragua. During his 10-year tenure in civil service, he presided over several inter-agency initiatives on post-conflict reconstruction and disarmament. His work in peace-building has resulted in several international recognitions such as the International Youth Peace Prize (2000) and the United Nations Disarmament Fellow (2003). Maradiaga received an MPA (with Honors) from Harvard University and was a Yale World Fellow in 2008.
