François-Philippe Champagne joined AMEC in 2008 as Strategic Development Director and Member of the Group Management Committee. He is also acting General Counsel, responsible for mergers and acquisitions activity, strategy and legal matters. Champagne provides advice and support to the Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Directors on AMEC's corporate strategy and direction, as well as strategic evaluation of investment and acquisition opportunities. Prior to AMEC, he was with ABB in Switzerland, where he served as Group Vice-President and Senior Counsel. He is also a former President of the Canadian-Swiss Chamber of Commerce. Champagne is involved in various think tanks, including Co-President of the Banff Forum in Canada, and is a non-executive Vice-Chairman of Bionest Technologies, a leading provider of waste water treatment technologies. He qualified as a lawyer in Canada and received a Master's of Law in US Legal Studies from Case Western Reserve University in the US.
