African Leadership Academy
Born in Ghana, Fred Swaniker is passionate about Africa and believes that good leadership is the most critical need for the continent. In line with this belief, Swaniker has founded two organizations that aim to catalyse a new generation of African leaders: the African Leadership Academy and the African Leadership Network. In recognition of his work in developing Africa's future leaders, Swaniker was selected as one of 115 young leaders to meet US President Barak Obama at the White House in 2010. He was listed as one of the top 10 young “power men” in Africa by Forbes Magazine in 2011 and recognized by Echoing Green in 2006 as one of 15 “best emerging social entrepreneurs in the world”. Swaniker began his professional career as a consultant with Mckinsey & Company. He has an MBA from Stanford Business School, where he was named an Arjay Miller Scholar, a distinction awarded to the top 10% of each graduating class.
