Hong Jeongdo is the Executive Director of JoongAng Media Network (JMnet), the largest media group in South Korea. He is in charge of managing 25 kinds of media such as newspapers, broadcasting and magazines. He joined JMnet in 2005 as a member of the Strategy Planning Office. In 2010, he supervised the overall process of the newspaper format change; it was the first newspaper company in Asia to switch to the Berliner format and successfully open an online portal site, Joins MSN.com. In 2011, Hong led the successful M&A of two of the largest cinema multiplex chains, Megabox and Cinus, and strengthened the corporate's top position in the theatre industry. As for the broadcasting business, Hong has played a crucial role in launching and operating the new general programming channel, JTBC, since the second half of 2011. Hong started his career at Accenture as a business consultant, specializing in communications and IT industry. He earned a BA in Economics from Wesleyan University and an MBA from Stanford University in the United States.
