Jake Seid

Jake Seid is a Co-President at Auction.com. Previously he was a Managing Director at Lightspeed Venture Partners based in Menlo Park, California. Seid co-led Lightspeed's India initiative. Prior to Lightspeed, Seid was a product line manager for Cisco Systems. He was responsible for launching the industry's first standards-based cable modems and routers. His products won "Best of Show" and "Best Networking Hardware" at Comdex '99. Seid was with Cisco's cable business unit as it grew from a US$ 1 million to US$ 1 billion in annual revenue business. Seid serves on the Board of the MIT-Stanford Venture Lab and the Advisory Board of Nexus India Capital, an India-focused venture capital firm. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and a MEng in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT. At MIT, he earned the Karl Taylor Compton Prize, the highest honour given to an MIT student. He also co-founded the MIT-China Educational Technology Initiative (MIT-CETI). This programme has brought together students in China and the US for over a decade to use the Internet for educational purposes.
