Violinist and Violist. Has performed with most of the world's leading orchestras and conductors and is praised for powerful and refreshing interpretations. 2005-06 season highlights include major tours in Europe, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and the US. 2000, started to perform on the viola and now regularly includes the viola repertoire in performances. A fervent chamber musician and performs regularly with duo partner, Itamar Golan, and many others. Following successful performance at the Dubrovnik Festival in 2000, was offered own festival: Julian Rachlin and Friends is now a regular annual festival and rapidly growing in international renown. Recipient of the Accademia Musicale Chigiana International Prize. Recordings on Warner Classics include the Brahms Concerto, Mozart's Violin Concerto No.3 with the Bayerischer Rundfunk and Mariss Jansons, and a recital disc. 2010, participated in Arts Leadership Focus 2010 (artsglobe.org/content/projects) at New York's Carnegie Hall, World Economic Forum, aiming to bring awareness to the public about the importance of arts in society.
