Katherine Garrett-Cox has more than 22 years in the investment industry, managing funds across global, North American and emerging market equities. Currently, she is Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer at Alliance Trust. Previously, she was Chief Investment Officer and Executive Director at Morley Fund Management, and Chief Investment Officer and Executive Director at Aberdeen Asset Management. Garrett-Cox is a Member of the UK Society of Investment Professionals, CFA Institute, Supervisory Board of Deutsche Bank and Thomson Reuters Media Advisory Board. She is also Vice-Chair of the Baring Foundation, Member of the Board of Fellows at the Thunderbird School of Global Management, Founder Member of the Advisory Council of CityUK, and Steering Group Member of the Capital Markets Climate Initiative of the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change. In December 2011, she was appointed to the Prime Minister's Business Advisory Group. Garrett-Cox was listed in the Financial Times' ranking of the Top 50 Women in World Business in 2010 and in 2011 was included in the FN 100 Most Influential Women in European Business. She has a BA (Hons) in History from Durham University.
