Katherine Richard is Founder and Chief Executive of the Warwick Energy Group, an Oklahoma City-based oil and natural gas company with over 4,000 wells in 13 US states. Since 2010, Richard has been an adviser to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan's Ministry of Mines on energy development and transparency, working in concert with the Aspen Institute's Market Building Initiative and the Institute for State Effectiveness. She is an Advisory Council Board Member of MicroVest Capital Management, the first private US microfinance investment firm. Since 2013, she has served on the Board of Director of Abraxas Petroleum, a San Antonio-based energy company. Richard began her career at Goldman Sachs, working in private equity and natural resources investment banking in New York, London and Paris. From 2007 to 2009, she ran oil & gas, metals & mining and sovereign debt investing for Serengeti Asset Management, a multi-strategy investment fund. From 2009 to 2012, she oversaw international energy investing for MSD Capital, Michael Dell's private investment fund in New York.
