Kevin Lu is the Director and Chief Financial Officer of Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), the private-sector investment guarantee arm of the World Bank focusing on cross-border investments in emerging markets. He runs MIGA's corporate finance, investments, risk analytics, financial reporting, budget, reinsurance and syndication functions. Lu is an adviser to the Bank's SWF clients, including China Investment Corporation. In his tenure at the Bank Group, Lu has been responsible for investment portfolios totalling US$ 16 billion and participated in multilateral funding packages in excess of US$ 25 billion. Lu was previously associated with CSFB and Global Risk Advisors in New York. He was on the adjunct faculty at American University. He speaks at international conferences on issues related to emerging markets and international financial architecture. His most recent book (2009) is Investing with Confidence: Understanding Political Risk Management in the 21st Century. He is a volunteer at several local organizations including Beauvoir Elementary School and NCRC. A native speaker of Mandarin Chinese, Lu holds a PhD in International Finance and Public Policy.
