Kohey Takashima is the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Oisix, an online grocery store that has built its business delivering organic foods to individuals throughout Japan. It is the largest Internet-based food retailer in Japan, with 1 million unique visitors a month and over US$ 150 million in sales. Takashima is also an Executive Board Member of Table for Two, a non-profit organization which simultaneously addresses hunger in the developing world and lifestyle-related diseases in the developed world. Previously, he worked for McKinsey & Company handling e-commerce projects. Takashima was a Member of the Committee of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan in 2007, and a Member of the Research Committee for Agriculture, Commerce and Industry Partnerships of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in 2009. He received the Porter Prize in 2008. Takashima holds an MA in Engineering from the University of Tokyo.
