A Member of Japan's Your Party, Kouta Matsuda was elected to the House of Councillors of Japan in 2010 for the Tokyo District. Prior, he worked for Sanwa Bank (today the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ). He was also the Founder and Special Adviser to the Board of Tully's Coffee Japan, a coffee chain with 320 branches. Matsuda serves as a Member of the Board of Table for Two International, a non-profit that works to reduce hunger. He graduated from the College of International Studies at the University of Tsukuba in 1990.
