Composer, Poet and Concert Pianist
Russian-American composer, pianist, poet and visual artist Lera Auerbach has published more than 100 works for opera, ballet, orchestra and chamber music, and performs as concert pianist worldwide. Auerbach was raised in Chelyabinsk. Her intelligent but emotional style has connected her to audiences around the world and she is frequently profiled in the media. Auerbach is currently finishing commissions for Lincoln Center, Dresden Staatskapelle, the Stuttgart Philharmonic, the Verbier Festival and the Hamburg Ballet, as well as an opera for Vienna's Theatre an der Wein. She performs at leading festivals and concert halls throughout the world and has published over 50 major works for ballet, chamber music, orchestra, and five volumes of prose and poetry. She was awarded Poet of the Year by the International Pushkin Society in 1996. Auerbach received a Master's degree from Juilliard in New York in 2002.
