Lily Lapenna's passion for youth empowerment has led her to work on youth-focused social projects throughout the world. She is the Founder and Chief Executive of MyBnk, a UK-based social enterprise that gives young people the skills, knowledge and confidence to effectively manage their money and to make enterprising choices in their lives. MyBnk has created the first FSA approved youth-led banking scheme, a social enterprise toolkit and a set of educational programmes that have engaged 37,000 young people in the United Kingdom. Through a social franchise model and a creative commons approach, MyBnk has expanded internationally. Lapenna is an Ashoka Fellow. She speaks regularly at international conferences and enjoys mentoring start-up social entrepreneurs.
