Luis Arbulu is Founder and Managing Partner of Hattery, an early stage VC investor and innovation consultancy based in San Francisco. He is also Founder and Advisory Member of Engine, advocating for digital rights and access. Prior to Hattery, Arbulu held a number of senior roles at Google in finance, product and business development, working on such products as advertising syndication, payments, vertical search, and social. In addition, he also led the investments practice at Google.org, managing a large portfolio in cleantech, emerging Web and big data. Before Google, Arbulu was a consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton, head of engineering at a start-up, and an engineer at Black and Veatch. He was also appointed Entrepreneur in Residence with the US Citizenship and Immigration Services, where he worked on changing visa rules to help more foreign-born entrepreneurs start businesses in the US. Arbulu studied engineering at the University of Kansas and the Universidad Catolica in Peru, and has an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
