Malini Mehra is the founder & CEO of the Centre for Social Markets (CSM), a non-profit that has pioneered work on sustainability and corporate responsibility in India and the Diaspora since 2000. Malini has served on several advisory boards for a range of NGO, corporate and government bodies. Prior to founding CSM, Malini worked on international trade, environment and human rights for NGOs including Oxfam and Friends of the Earth. She also served in the UK government, where she led on international sustainable development partnerships. Prior to this, she served as Advisor to UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan on his High Level Panel of Eminent Persons on UN-Civil Society Relations. At the UN, she also contributed to the Human Development Reports on Democracy (2002) and Human Rights (2000) and has authored several books and publications. Malini has degrees from the Institute of Development Studies (Univ. of Sussex) and Smith College (USA) with a specialism in gender studies. An Indian citizen, she is married with three children, speaks six global languages, and divides her time between London and India. Her interests include family, friends, food, fitness, dance, running and triathlon.
