Since its founding in 1997, Claure has grown Brightstar into an US$ 8 billion business with presence in more than 50 countries on six continents, offering more than 100 innovative services to over 43,000 customers. Forbes Magazine has recognized Brightstar as one of the largest privately-held companies in the US, listing it 154th in 2010 while Inc. Magazine identified Brightstar as one of the fastest-growing companies in the US, placing it sixth in its annual Inc. 500/5000 listing in 2009. Brightstar has also been recognized as the largest Hispanic-owned business in the US in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2011. Claure has received international recognition and numerous awards for his entrepreneurial skills and innovative spirit. He holds a BSc in Economics and Finance and an Honorary Doctorate of Commercial Science from Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts.
