Mark Rhys Weldon is the Chief Executive Officer of the New Zealand Exchange, a stock exchange located in Wellington, New Zealand. In 2007 he was rated 25th on the New Zealand Listener Power List of the 50 most powerful people in New Zealand, his first appearance on the list. He is a former Olympic swimmer for New Zealand, having represented New Zealand at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain in the Men's 50m freestyle and the 4 x 100m freestyle relay. He also swam for New Zealand at the 1990 Commonwealth Games at Auckland. Weldon has BCom, BA and MCom (Hons) degrees from the University of Auckland, and a Juris Doctor degree and a diploma in International Law (Hons) from Columbia University. He received a Distinguished Alumni Award in 2006 from the University of Auckland.
