Matthew Anestis is Chief Operating Officer of BlackRock Alternative Investors, which manages over US$ 100 billion in alternative assets for BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager. He also serves on BlackRock's Global Human Capital Committee and leads BlackRock's Boston office. Prior to joining BlackRock, Anestis was a Partner and Managing Director with The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in Hong Kong where he led the firm's marketing and sales and green efforts for China, and led a variety of strategic and operational projects for multinationals and Chinese firms with a significant focus on M&A, JVs and integrations. He also spent time in BCG's Boston and Toronto offices. Anestis has worked with Microsoft and in the White House. He serves as a Member of the Board of Trustees for the Presidential Scholars Foundation and was the Founder of the Boston Volunteer Bridge and Toronto Volunteer Bridge. Anestis earned a BA in Economics (magna cum laude) from Harvard University, an MBA (with high distinction) from the Harvard Business School as a Baker Scholar and a JD (magna cum laude) from the Harvard Law School.
