Michael Jordaan is the CEO of First National Bank. First National Bank is one of the largest banks in South Africa and also operates in seven other African countries. The bank's profit after tax is over US$ 1billion with a customer base in excess of nine million. Dr. Jordaan has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services sector having started his career as a Management Trainee and Corporate Banker with Deutsche Bank in Hamburg and then Frankfurt. Dr. Jordaan has a long-standing track record with the FirstRand Group, having joined the Class-of programme with Rand Merchant Bank in Johannesburg in 1994. Dr. Jordaan has held various CEO positions throughout the FirstRand Group, including Origin Bank (which later rebranded to RMB Private Bank), FNB Home Loans and eBucks.com. Having launched eBucks.com successfully in 2000, Jordaan moved to FNB in 2002 to head up FNB's Retail Products Division. He was appointed CEO of FNB in 2004 and still fulfills that role.
