Naoko Yamazaki served as a Mission Specialist on the crew of STS-131 Discovery in April 2010 and has logged over 15 days in space. She operated robotic arms on the space shuttle and the International Space Station (ISS). Based on her various training experience in Japan, the US, Russia, Canada and European countries, she is currently serving as Adviser to the Young Astronaut Club and Science Adviser in Chiba, Japan, promoting education in space and science.
