Chief Executive Officer
Nicky Newton-King is Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. In this position, she has been leading the JSE's initiative to develop a socially responsible investment index for the South African market. She is a Member of the JSE's Board of Directors, the Standing Advisory Committee on Company Law, the Independent Commission for the Remuneration of Public Office Bearers and the Financial Markets Advisory Board. She is also Chairperson of the JSE's Art Committee, which focuses on supporting South African artists from previously disadvantaged groups. She was a Partner in the Financial Services Unit of Webber Wentzel Bowens and named Businesswoman of the Year in 2003. She received an LLM (First Class with Honours) from the University of Cambridge and was a Yale World Fellow in 2006.
