Nikolay Pryanishnikov has been President of Microsoft Russia since 2009. He joined Microsoft from VimpelCom, a leading mobile provider in Russia, where he held the Executive Vice-President position. Pryanishnikov joined VimpelCom in 1999 as Deputy General Director and Commercial Director, and was promoted to First Vice-President in 2000 and to Executive Vice-President and General Manager for the Russia Regions in 2004. In 2008, he was appointed VimpelCom's Executive Vice-President and General Manager for Russia in 2008, taking responsibility for the entire Russian market, as well as growing the company's operations in South-East Asia. Prior to VimpelCom, Pryanishnikov started his career in 1995 as Chief Executive Officer of Mobile Center, a subsidiary of Moscow Cellular Communications.
