Pascale Bruderer is a Member of Switzerland's Social Democratic Party and has represented the Canton Aargau in the Swiss Parliament since 2002. She was elected Vice-President of the centre-left party in 2008, and is currently President of the National Council of Switzerland. When she first took her seat in parliament at the age of 24, she was the youngest Member of the National Council. As a Member of the National Council Committee for Science, Education and Culture, she focuses primarily on education and welfare, especially the integration and equal treatment of people with disabilities. Prior to her elevation to national office, Bruderer served both in the cantonal parliament (2001-2002) and in Baden's town parliament (1997-2004). Her professional experience involves several years' work in the banking sector at UBS and in the IT sector at Microsoft. She studied Political Science, Constitutional Law, and Social and Economic History at the University of Zurich and the University of V?xj? (Sweden), earning a Master's in Political Science from the University of Zurich in 2005.
