Since joining US investment firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR) in 2001, Freise has been a leading force in building KKR's track record in Germany, where KKR has invested more than US$ 4 billion of equity capital in transactions valued at more than US$ 20 billion to become one of the leading foreign investors. Freise, head of KKR Europe's media investment team, was personally involved in KKR's investments in Demag, Zumtobel, MTU Aero Engines, Duales System Deutschland - Der Gr?ne Punkt, ATU and ProSiebenSat.1 Media and BMG Rights Management, and thereby contributed to the strong growth of that innovative asset class. Prior to joining KKR, Freise was Co-Founder of Venturepark, a Germany-based early stage venture capital company. From 1996 to 1999, Freise worked for management consultancy McKinsey & Company in New York. In 2008, Freise was named a Young Leader of the Atlantik-Br?cke, a private, non-profit association dedicated to strengthening mutual understanding between Germany and the United States by pursuing the development of important high-level programmes across a range of political, economic and social topics.
