Qiu Huanguang is an Associate Professor at the Center for Chinese Agricultural Policy at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is also the leading scientist of the Division of National Maize Economy and Policy for the China Agricultural Research System. In 2012, Qiu was awarded “Outstanding Young Scientist” by the National Science Foundation of China. He also holds visiting research positions at the University of London in the United Kingdom and the Free University of the Netherlands. His major research fields include rural and regional agricultural development, agricultural trade policy, biotechnology policy and general equilibrium model analysis. Qiu has published more than 80 papers in international and Chinese peer-reviewed academic journals, and seven books.
