Africans Act for Africa
Rosebell Kagumire is a Ugandan freelance multimedia journalist, award-winning blogger and communications expert with a specialization in new media, conflict and development issues. She most recently worked as Coordinator of Africans Act for Africa, an informal network of African citizens and activists using online tools to get African leaders to find African solutions to different crisis in the region. Kagumire has worked on an Oxfam media project as Editor and Rights in Crisis Digital Campaigner at Channel16, covering humanitarian issues in eastern Africa. She has experience in communications in women, peace and security issues in Africa. She also has experience in media, gender and peacebuilding from working with Isis-WICCE, an international women's rights organization working in different African countries in conflict, including in Uganda, DRC, South Sudan and Liberia. Kagumire is a critic of media narratives on Africa. A new media enthusiast, she authors for Global Voices.
