Rosebell Kagumire is a Ugandan communications specialist and a new media enthusiast and critic of media narratives on Africa. She is currently a Social Media Manager at the International Organization for Migration (IOM). Kagumire has experience in communications in women, peace and security issues in Africa. Prior, she worked with the Institute for Peace and Security Studies in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in their African Peace and Security Programme, and at Isis-WICCE, an international women’s rights organization working on gender and peacebuilding in different African countries in conflict, including Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan and Liberia. Kagumire holds an MA in Media, Peace and Conflict Studies from the United Nations-mandated University for Peace in Costa Rica. She also studied non-violent conflict at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.
