Samer Asfour is a specialist in economic development, global trade and investment. In 2008, he was appointed Commissioner for Investor Services and Development at Jordan's Development Zones Commission. Previously he was Deputy City Manager for Economic Development Planning with the Greater Amman Municipality, where his mission included the Amman Master Plan and city vision for the next 20 years. Asfour holds an MBA (with Honours) from the University of Denver, an MSc in International Securities, Investment and Banking (with Honours) from the University of Reading, and a BSc in Economics, Statistics and Political Science (with Honours) from the University of Jordan. He is a Member of the Young Arab Leaders and a Board Member of the Arab Innovation Summit. Asfour is a President Eisenhower Fellow and is the recipient of the University of Denver's Pioneer Award (2002). Asfour was elected ?Student of the Year? by the Daniels College of Business in 2002.
