Samer Asfour is a specialist in economic and social development, global trade, public finance and investment. In 2012, he was appointed Director of the Economic and Social Affairs Directorate in the office of His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan. Prior, he was Executive Director for Government Sector for Emerging Markets at PwC. Asfour also served as Chief Executive Officer of the Jordan Investment Board and was Economic Advisor to the Prime Minister of Jordan. Before that, he served as Deputy City Manager for Economic Development Planning with the Greater Amman Municipality, where his mission included the Amman Master Plan and city vision for the next 20 years. Asfour is a Board Member of several entities and is a President Eisenhower Fellow. He holds an MBA (Honours) from the University of Denver, an MSc in International Securities, Investment and Banking (Honours) from the University of Reading, and a BSc in Economics, Statistics and Political Science (Honours) from the University of Jordan. He also attended several courses at Harvard University.
