Sanjay Gupta is the Senior Vice-President and Adviser to the Executive Chairman at Abraxis BioScience, a fully-integrated biotechnology company based in Los Angeles, California. At Abraxis, Gupta works with Dr Patrick Soon-Shiong on strategic investments in healthcare and provides mentorship and oversight for the various portfolio companies under management. Previously, Gupta was Director of Social Enterprise at Intel, researching and promoting models for investment in social enterprise and their potential for stimulating disruptive innovation in developing economies. Earlier, Gupta served as Chief Financial Officer and Director of Strategy for Dossia, a social-enterprise sponsored by 10 leading global organizations, including Intel, Wal-Mart, Pitney-Bowes, AT&T, sanofi-aventis, Cardinal Health, Vanguard Health, Abraxis, Applied Materials and BP America. Earlier in his career, Gupta worked as an entrepreneur and investor with a particular interest in social business models. Gupta was educated at the University of Oxford, Merton College, where he received an MBA, and Georgetown University, where he received a BA in Philosophy.
