Scott Gilmore is a social entrepreneur who focuses on creating jobs in frontier economies. Formerly a diplomat, in 2004 Gilmore resigned to launch the award-winning social enterprise Building Markets to help reduce poverty by connecting local entrepreneurs to global opportunities. He is currently launching an impact investment fund to help accelerate capital flows into some of the poorest, but fastest growing economies in the developing world. Gilmore is a Senior Ashoka Fellow and was recently awarded the G20 prize for new ideas in SME finance by US President Barack Obama.
