Selene Biffi is a humanitarian and social entrepreneur. She is the founder of several social ventures, including Plain Ink - free, educational comics created for children and communities in developing countries - and Youth Action for Change (YAC), high-quality, free, online courses for young change-makers in 130 countries. She has been a consultant, trainer and speaker for organizations including the UN, Amnesty International, the World Bank, Oxfam, OSCE, Council of Europe, Columbia University and Microsoft. She is now part of the Taskforce on Innovative Startups of the Minister of Economic Development of Italy and serves on the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Innovation in The Third Sector of Banca Prossima (Banca Intesa). Her social innovation and technology for development work has appeared in The Washington Post and WIRED, and she has received over forty awards and fellowships. She holds a Bachelor's degree in International Economics and Management from Universita' Bocconi (Italy), a NOHA Master's in International Humanitarian Action from UCD (Ireland) and diplomas from Harvard University and INSEAD Business School.
