Shahzad Bhatti is Director of Investments at Khazanah Nasional where he covers the Muslim-majority world, education, renewable energy and the creative economy. Prior to Khazanah, Bhatti was founder/CEO of the SAB Group, a US-based consulting firm working on transactions worth above US$ 10 billion with over 100 of the Fortune 500, 45 governments and many charitable causes. Bhatti was also seconded to be CEO of money-losing Website.com. After driving 18 months of profitability, Website.com was sold. Prior to SAB, Bhatti was a negotiation instructor at Harvard Law School and attorney at Yanagida & Nomura (Tokyo) and Morrison & Foerster (Washington). Bhatti has a JD from Harvard Law School (1997), where he was an International Law Fellow; an MPA from Harvard?s JFK School (2006) and an AB from Columbia University (1994) in Economics-Political Science and Biochemistry and was a Human Rights Fellow. Bhatti authored The Impact of Foreign Investment on the Economic Development of Malaysia and has been featured on the BBC, NPR, Bloomberg and The Washington Post. Bhatti is happily married with three sons.
