Simon Bridges is Minister of Labour and of Energy and Resources of New Zealand and is Associate Minister for Climate Change Issues. Prior to becoming a minister, he chaired the New Zealand Parliament's Finance and Expenditure Select Committee and was a Member of the Justice and Electoral Select Committee. Before entering Parliament, he was a Senior Crown Prosecutor in the District and High Courts, and has also practised as a litigation lawyer at a major legal firm. Bridges holds a BA in Civil Law from the University of Oxford and a BA in Arts and Law (with Honours) from the University of Auckland, New Zealand, where he received a Senior Law Prize. He has also worked as an intern at the British House of Commons after receiving the Chevening-Hansard Society Fellowship.
