Steven Everts is the Personal Representative of the SG/HR for Energy and Foreign Policy at the Council of the European Union in Brussels (since 2005). Previous positions include: from 1996-1998, Lectureship in Politics, Brasenose College, University of Oxford; 1997, Tutor in Politics, Department of Continuing Education, University of Oxford; 1998, Research Associate, Clingendael, Dutch Institute for International Relations; 1999-2004, Senior Research Fellow and Director, Transatlantic Programme, Centre for European Reform. From 1988-1989, Everts studied at Institut d'Études Politiques, Université de Grenoble; in 1994 he gained his MA in Political Science from the Faculty of Social Studies, Leiden University, Netherlands; 1994-1997, Chevening Scholar; 2000, DPhil in International Relations, Faculty of Social Studies, St Antony's College, University of Oxford.
