Suzanne Ehlers, President and Chief Executive Officer of Population Action International (PAI), has worked for the last 15 years to promote women's health, rights and empowerment across the globe. She has led PAI since 2009, building the case for women's health as an integral development issue that impacts everything from the environment and food security to state stability. Ehlers serves on the US government's delegation to the United Nations Commission on Population and Development. She also sits on the Steering Committee of the Asia Pacific Alliance, a Bangkok-based reproductive health group. Ehlers is a frequent speaker on reproductive health issues and has been profiled by The New York Times, the National Journal and Grist. She was honoured as one of Devex's 40 under 40 International Development Leaders for 2011.
