Thomas Buberl is Chief Executive Officer of AXA Konzern AG, Germany, one of the country's largest insurance and financial protection companies. AXA Konzern AG is the German arm of the AXA Group, one of the largest insurance companies worldwide. Buberl is also a member of the AXA Group's Executive Committee. He joined AXA from Zurich Financial Services (ZFS) where he has been Chief Executive Officer for Switzerland since 2008. Before joining ZFS, he worked from 2005 to 2008 for the Winterthur Group as member of the management board of Winterthur in Switzerland, first as Chief Operating Officer and then as Chief Marketing and Distribution Officer. Before joining Winterthur, Buberl worked at Boston Consulting Group from 2000 till 2005 as consultant for the banking and insurance sector in Germany and abroad. He holds a ?Diplomkaufmann? degree from WHU Koblenz, Germany, an MBA from Lancaster University, United Kingdom and a PhD in Economics from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland.
