Racing Driver and Team Owner
Tiago Monteiro's career began at an age when most of racing's budding young stars are preparing to make the final step to the highest level of auto racing: Formula One. Tiago, however, was literally taking the wheel for the first time when at 20 he visited the Ricard circuit in France. In his rookie year, Tiago won 5 times and took 5 pole positions to become B-class champion and rookie of the year. He then moved on to the French Formula 3 Championship, finishing 12th overall and taking the rookie of the year award once again. Tiago has continued to compete and in 2002 moved up to the Formula 3000 International Championship with the Super Nova Racing team. In 2003, he joined Fittipaldi Dingman Racing for the Champ Car World Series, achieving a pole position in Mexico City and leading two races. Tiago has become a truly international driver: he has crisscrossed the globe, racing in Germany, Australia, Belgium, South Korea, the Netherlands, England, Italy, and Japan. Not surprisingly, his efforts have paid off the track too: he is completely fluent in five languages.
