Racing Driver and Team Owner
Tiago Monteiro is in his fourth season as a WTCC Driver, this time driving for the SR-Sport team, after three seasons with the SEAT Sport team. Previously, he drove in Formula One for the Jordan Team and the Midland/Spiker Team in 2005 and 2006, with a podium finish at Indianapolis in 2005. In 2003, he joined Fittipaldi Dingman Racing for the Champ Car World Series, achieving a pole position in Mexico City and leading two races. In 2002, he moved up to the Formula 3000 International Championship with the Super Nova Racing team. Before that, he participated in the French Formula 3 Championship. Monteiro took the wheel for the first time at the age of 20, when he visited the Ricard circuit in France. He is now the most popular and most successful driver in Portugal. Monteiro also embraced a new adventure by becoming Team Owner of the Ocean Racing Technology GP2 Team.
