Member, National Assembly and Secretary-General, Grand National Party
Won Hee-Ryong is a Member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea. He also serves as the Secretary-General of a group of new-generation Grand National Party (GNP) members, recently named to the opposition party’s Supreme Council (a top decision-making body). He worked as a prosecutor and then as a defence lawyer before being elected to the National Assembly in 2000. He holds a degree in Law from Seoul National University and was one of the leaders of the student democracy movement.
