Eleanor Ochodo

Senior Researcher and Lecturer, Centre for Evidence-Based Health Care, Stellenbosch University

Dr. Eleanor Ochodo is a senior researcher and lecturer based at the Centre for Evidence-based Health Care in Stellenbosch University in Cape Town, South Africa. Her research revolves around evidence-based medicine with a focus on diagnostic tests and markers, specifically their accuracy, their impact on patients and how their results can be translated to policy and practice. She currently holds research grant awards from the World Health Organization and Wellcome Trust Foundation and is widely published in local and international journals.

She qualified as a medical doctor from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. She also holds a postgraduate certificate in Infectious Diseases from the University of Edinburgh (UK), an MSc in International Health from the Free University of Amsterdam (Vrije Universiteit) and a PhD in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
