Marcos is from the Ministry of Economy and Chair of the Board of the Institute of Technological Research (IPT). He took several leadership positions as National Secretary of Innovation in the Ministry of Industry and Undersecretary for Science, Technology and Innovation in São Paulo State government. Before joining the public sector, Marcos worked in venture capital fund and management consulting firm.

Marcos holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Management from EAESP/FGV, innovation policy training by Vinnova (Swedish Innovation Agency) and is a MIT D-Lab Innovation Ecosystem Builder Fellow.
