Marjolein Brasz

Chief Executive Officer, Foodvalley

Shaping the future of food, together. That is the mission of Foodvalley. I am a true believer of systemic change through cooperation and innovation across organisations, sectors and borders. As such I am very pleased to be in the position to lead this wonderful organisation, funded and set-up with the sheer aim to facilitate the transition of the food system.

In 2001, after graduating from the Erasmus University Rotterdam with a degree in business, I started working in the energy sector. Initially in the traditional oil and gas industry followed by jobs in renewable energy and (later) sustainable materials. Over the years, I worked in business development and leadership roles (LT), product, process and / or system innovation being the common thread. Often in dynamic environments where change is necessary; there I bring direction, connection and energy. I combine my business sense and commercial attitude with a sustainable perspective.

Experience areas: ecosystem innovation; transitions; public-private; leadership; good governance.

Work experience in most EU countries, South Africa, Brazil, Venezuela, Mexico, USA, Canada, Saudi Arabia.

Vision: In 2050 the food system needs to offer food security to 10 billion people worldwide—tasty, affordable, healthy food produced with respect for animals and our planet.

As a Practice Leader, Foodvalley guides parties from thoughts and ambitions into practice. As an independent organisation, we drive collective action with frontrunners across sectors and countries.
We provide access to the right people, financial resources, shared facilities and best practices. The result: viable businesses and new healthy sustainable sectors.

Join the journey, shaping the future of food together.
