Musaab Almulla

Director, Global Analysis Department, Aramco

Musaab Mohamed Almulla is currently heading as a Director the Global Analysis Department in the Strategy & Marketing Analysis of Saudi Aramco, the organization responsible for modelling and analyzing the global energy market and publishing the Company’s global energy outlook and pricing. Musaab has held his current position after the successful completion of the one-year executive MBA of MIT Sloan Fellows Program in Cambridge, MA, USA. Prior to that Musaab was heading the Origination Department in New Business Development responsible for origination and evaluating new business ideas through various business models for the Company in the energy sector and its adjacencies. Throughout his career, Musaab held various roles associated with the integrated energy planning mainly in the power and water sector for Saudi Arabia.
Musaab began his career as an Electrical Engineer in Power Distribution Department in Saudi Aramco after his graduation as Bachelor Degree of Science in Electrical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia in 1998 and in 2002 obtained his Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University in Tempe, USA. In 2005, Musaab joined Project Management Organization leading a critical scope of one of the largest oil producing project throughout the full project cycle (planning, preliminary engineering, Detailed Engineering, Construction, Commissioning and start-up). Upon his return from the three years assignment in Project Management, Musaab technical capabilities enabled him to graduate from one of the distinguished Company’s programs; Engineering Specialist Program. In 2011, Musaab has been appointed to lead an organizational transformation and succeeded through a dedicated team to build new key functions in the expanded Power Systems Organization. A year later, Musaab has been appointed as the first Division Head of the Power & Water Integrated Resource Planning in Power Systems during which Musaab built a team and structured function achieving key milestones such as the development of optimum energy mix in Power & Water in Saudi Arabia. In 2014, Musaab been appointed on acting basis as a department manager of Renewable Department and then as a department manager of Planning Department and in 2015, Musaab been appointed as the Manager of Northern Area Power Operations Department heading an organization of more than 300 employees.
Early 2016 and up to now, Musaab shifted his career to a Corporate Organization and been appointed as the Director of Origination Department in New Business Development, through the two years role, Musaab succeeded in creating well-defined process to originate new business deals and managed through diversified and developed team to achieve key successful business strategic deals to Saudi Aramco in the non-core spaces.
In addition to the highlighted Bachelor and Master degrees obtained as well as the graduation from the Company’s recognized Engineering Specialist Program, Musaab attended and participated in several conferences and seminars presenting several papers in recognized conferences. Musaab, in addition, participated in the Company Corporate Assessments as well as the six weeks Stanford Executive Program in Stanford, California, USA and the two weeks Oxford Energy Seminar at St. Catherine’s College, Oxford, United Kingdom. This is in addition to several in-house management and leadership programs and courses.
