Poonam Ahluwalia

Senior Municipal Engineer, Urban, Disaster Risk Management, Resilience and Land Unit, World Bank Group

Poonam Ahluwalia is a Senior Municipal Engineer working with Urban, Disaster Risk Management, Resilience and Land unit of the World Bank Group. She has a doctorate degree from IIT Delhi and more than 25 years of experience in project management, design, research, techno-economic evaluation of systems in Water, Wastewater, Drainage, Green infrastructure and Solid Waste sectors. She holds the PMP certification from Project Management Institute (USA) and Accredited Professional certification from Indian Green Building Council. She has more than 80 publications in various international and national forums and a book on “Water and Wastewater Systems” to her credit. She is currently leading/ co-leading and serving as a technical resource on various infrastructure projects at the World Bank.
