Has led several major international councils - Chair, IMFC, the key policy forum of the International Monetary Fund (2011-2014); Chair, G20 Eminent Persons Group on Global Financial Governance (2017-2018); Chair, Group of Thirty, an independent global council of economic and financial leaders (2017-2022) and Chair of its Board of Trustees since 2023; Co-Chair, Global Commission on the Economics of Water (2022-); Co-Chair of the Advisory Board for the UN's 2019 Human Development Report (2019-2023); Co-Chair of the Global Education Forum (2019-2023). Was Chairman of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (2011-2023); Chairman of the Investment Strategies Committee of GIC Private Limited (2011-2023) and Deputy Chairman of GIC (2019-2023).
