
The diversity backlash is underway. Here’s how to resist it
Some employees may feel that they are losing opportunities because of diversity initiatives. But business leaders must not lose sight of the bigger picture.
According to the Global Gender Gap Report 2024, we are still five generations away from reaching full parity at the global level. Meanwhile, there continue to be exclusion, bias and discrimination related to race, gender, ability, sexual orientation and all other forms of human diversity, with progress slowing down or at risk of reversing.
Against this backdrop, the Community of Chief Dieversity and Inclusion Officers drives outcomes towards:
(1) Peer-level exchange on emerging trends, risks and opportunities to build inclusive corporate cultures
(2) Amplifying the most cutting-edge ideas to redesign business and people processes for more equity
(3) Developing a vision, strategies and tools to proactively embed diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice into the recovery and future of our economies and societies and shape long-term inclusive change
