Businesses leaders and policy makers face significant barriers to maintaining the level of analytic depth necessary to enact informed decisions for today’s economic and social agendas. The lack of agility in traditional data systems is crippling proactive solutions to today’s key social and economic issues. The Global Future Council on New Metrics will have as its remit to expand the availability of accepted actionable data, bridging traditional and new data providers and analytic methodologies, including big data and official statistics. The council will be anchored as an advisory group to the New Metrics CoLab at the World Economic Forum’s Centre for the New Economy and Society.
