Technology Pioneers represent a global community of trailblazing companies. They are usually in the start-up stage, with the potential to significantly impact business and society through the design, development and implementation of new technologies and innovations.
These pioneers and their “millennial mindset” have demonstrated the ability to harness creativity to design and create transformative solutions.
Launched in 2000, the community recognizes every year about 30 companies as Technology Pioneers. A selection committee – comprising top technology and innovation experts, academics, venture capitalists and entrepreneurs – evaluates all candidates against the community’s criteria before making its recommendation to the World Economic Forum.
Around 600 innovative companies from five continents have been selected as Technology Pioneers. Among them, the majority are still thriving independently while others have been acquired by industry leaders.
For the 2017 class of Technology Pioneers, all applications submitted by 3 February 2017, 23.59 CET will be considered. All applicants will be notified by mid-July 2017 latest.
