Global Future Council on the Future of Cities

Council Description

Cities are the engine of the global economy and home to a growing majority of the world’s population. In the face of increasing global challenges, from inequality to climate change, how can cities advance and inform more inclusive and sustainable models of urban development?

The Global Future Council on Cities 2023-2024 is focused on the urban affordability crisis – a widespread and multifaceted global challenge that highlights systemic injustices and deepens inequities. The Council curates and advances promising interventions that catalyse impact and action to address this crisis and can be used by public, private, and civil society stakeholders to drive change. be used by public, private, and civil society stakeholders to drive change.

Mobilizing thought leadership for impact

The Global Future Councils serve as a brain trust for leaders from government, business and civil society, and support the Forum’s mission by bringing together experts bound by a shared mission to discuss the most critical issues, generate insights and analysis, and collaborate in shaping agendas.
