COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund

On 11 March 2020, the Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) declared that COVID-19 was a pandemic. The World Economic Forum, acting as a partner to WHO supports the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund. It calls on all COVID Action Platform partners to provide financial support by contributing to COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund. The Fund was created at the request of WHO by the United Nations Foundation in parternship with the Swiss Philanthropy Foundation.

Donations received will go towards funding the activities of the Strategic Preparedness and Response Plan, which include among others:


  • Putting in place activities to track and understanding the spread of the virus

  • Ensuring patients get the care they need

  • Buying and shipping essential supplies such as masks, gloves, protective wear for frontline workers

  • Accelerating efforts to develop vaccines, tests and treatments
