Overview:

The World Economic Forum is developing the Blue Food Partnership, with Friends of Ocean Action leading it as the secretariat. The Partnership aims to catalyse science-based actions towards healthy and sustainable blue food value chains by:

  • Integrating the critical role of blue food in sustainability narratives at a policy level in international fora
  • Identifying and scaling pre-competitive initiatives on priority blue food topics

Activities:

  • Highlighting blue food in global events such as the Sustainable Development Impact Summit 2021
  • Launching the Sustainable Aquaculture 2030 Working Group, which aims to co-create a science-based global road map to 2030 that will provide guidance towards the design and delivery of sustainable aquaculture growth.

  • Launch of the Blue Food Partnership at the Sustainable Development Impact Summit 2021
  • Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, 2022
  • Delivery of the Sustainable Aquaculture 2030 Road Map by end of 2022
